Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree PANGEA

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree PANGEA (PaleoNtology, GEoheritage & Applications): Lille-Minho-Athens-Uppsala Universities

The Pangea (PAleoNtology GEoheritage & Applications) programme is the first and unique Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Palaeontology. Our consortium is composed of 4 European institutions: the University of Lille in France, Uppsala University in Sweden, the University of Minho in Portugal and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece.

Pangea is a 2-year, 120 ECTS study programme spread over the four European universities of our consortium. After a first term of background strenghtening, students have the opportunity to specialise according to three professional profiles: research in palaeobiology, applied palaeontology (stratigraphy, basin analysis and reservoir, environmental paleontology), and geoheritage-geoconservation (science communication, networking, management). The fourth term is fully dedicated to the Master thesis and, or internship.

Upon completion of 120 ECTS in at least two of the four Partners (see mobility tracks), students receive multiple degrees, delivered by each Partner University he/she has studied at.

Students with a first higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor, Licence) or a recognised equivalent level of learning in the field of Earth Sciences, Natural Sciences, or Life Sciences, and from all over the world can apply. This programme is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union which offers full scholarships (including participations costs, travel costs and a monthly allowance).
